The National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) submitted two normative proposals, related to specific technical requirements for 5G advanced communication technologies, to public consultations. The proposals are designed to provide the necessary regulatory framework for the incorporation of 5G and other fifth generation technologies to Brazil.
Public Consultation n. 29/2021 seeks to collect public contributions on a proposal that establishes the criteria and technical requirements for ground stations to share 5G frequency bands, as a means to avoid inter-system interference, by providing specific interference mitigation techniques. The draft is available at ANATEL’s website, through which contributions can be submitted until August 19.
Public Consultation n. 30/2021 seeks to collect public contributions on a proposal that provides technical and operational requirements for low-capacity ground stations to operate and share the spectrum of the “5G NR” International Mobile Telecommunication (IMT) standard. The draft is available at ANATEL’s website, through which contributions can be submitted until July 24.
