The Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) submitted to public consultation, for a period of 45 days, a new draft resolution ruling the format and content for the presentation of the Discovery Assessment Plan (PAD, in the Portuguese acronym), the Discovery Assessment Final Report (RFAD, in the Portuguese acronym) and the Declaration of Commerciality.

Public Consultation and Audience n. 26/2019 was reinstated and presented a new draft resolution incorporating the contributions of last year public consultation. The draft presents rules of format and content for the presentation to the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) of three documents: the Discovery Assessment Plan (PAD, in the Portuguese acronym), the Discovery Assessment Final Report (RFAD, in the Portuguese acronym) and the Declaration of Commerciality. They are submitted to ANP for approval when a new oil or natural gas field is discovered, and its commercialization assessed.

Last year public consultation process, whose public hearing was schedule to March 2020, was suspended due to the pandemic. After incorporating the contributions from that process, and advancing internally on the subject, ANP presented a new text to public opinion, with new provisions on nomenclature, economic analysis parameters and schedule detailing.

Contributions can be submitted until December 11 to this e-mail address. The new draft resolution, a table detailing the alterations and the form for participation can be found here (in Portuguese), where the form for participation in the public hearing, scheduled to January 19, 2021 and more information can also be found.
