New measures to reduce bureaucracy: 14 activities exempted from licenses and permits to operate

Resolution n. 57/2020  broadened the list of economic activities considered as a low-risk enterprise. It included 14 trade activities that can start to operate right after they get the National Register of Legal Entities (CNPJ), superseding the need for prior licenses and permits, such as the following:

  • manufacture of canned fruit and vegetables (except for palm hearts); manufacture of fruit and vegetable juices (except concentrates); manufacture of food and ready meals;
  • wholesale trade of food products in general;
  • retail trade of new and used parts and accessories for motorcycles and scooters;
  • retail trade of sweets, candy, chocolates, and similar products;
  • retail trade of cosmetics, perfumery and personal care products; and
  • supply of food prepared predominantly for home consumption.
