The National Water and Sanitation Agency (ANA) submitted to public consultation, for a period of 45 days, a regulatory priority proposal concerning the Regulatory Agenda of Sanitation for the 2020-2022 period, in accordance with the new regulatory framework instituted by Law n. 14.026/2020.

Public Consultation n. 3/2020 of the National Water and Sanitation Agency (ANA) presented a Regulatory Agenda proposal for Sanitation covering the 2020-2022 period, listing strategic topics to guide the editing of regulation on Sanitation and, therefore, execute the provisions of the new regulatory framework, instituted by Law n. 14.026/2020.

The new regulatory framework attributed to ANA the role of regulatory authority over Sanitation. As a means of executing that role, the new Regulatory Agenda on Sanitation proposed the establishment of 22 guideline regulation on different sector topics, in order to uniform norms, improve legal security and attract investments. The proposal is also composed of a schedule for commencing and concluding the regulatory process of each new norm.

The public consultation aims at collecting opinions on the exclusion or substitution of topics or alterations to the regulatory process’ commencing schedule. After collection and analysis, an ordinance will be edited approving the new Regulatory Agenda on guideline regulations for the Sanitation sector.

Contributions can be submitted until October 25, through the public consultation’s website (in Portuguese), where the regulatory agenda proposal, a draft ordinance, instructions for participation and more information can be found.
